Students working with spiral notebooks

Inquirers in Mrs. Lauren Lauer's third-grade class gather data about their classmates.  In the PYP Unity of Inquiry: How We Organize Ourselves, the central idea is "Structure is Essential to Order."

Students are learning that by organizing data in graphs, they can view the information in new ways and use it to guide their understanding.  Students asked questions of their peers - such as: What is your favorite treat?   Or What is your favorite game?

Once all the information was gathered for every classmate, the students created pictographs with the data captured.
